A group of fifteen colleagues from our Belfast office donated their time as part of our Give A Day volunteering initiative, to assist The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) at the Knockbracken Allotments. Volunteering has always been part of our SPIRIT, something we actively encourage across the Group, and through our Give A Day initiative, we can provide time and resources to aid employee involvement.
TCV, a leading organisation focused on the creation, improvement, and maintenance of green spaces throughout the UK, has consistently played a pivotal role in encouraging volunteer participation to safeguard and enrich the natural environment.
The allotments had become overgrown, making it hard for community groups to access plots to grow vegetables. The team cleared the old allotment borders from the undergrowth, defined new allotment plots with timber edging, dug the ground and prepared it for Spring planting. They also cut the grass around the network of paths to ensure safe, easy access for those who use the site.
We would like to thank all of our colleagues who volunteered their time to support TCV.
