At SHS Group, we encourage all our Divisions to volunteer within their local communities. The Group’s Give & Gain Day, supported by Business in the Community showcases the power of volunteering, with all Divisions completing activities throughout the summer months.
Volunteering activities included helping local charities, schools, food banks and community groups. British Pepper & Spice helped the Hope Centre food bank and allotments, unpacking pallets for new donations and restocking shelves. Whilst SHS Drinks and Sales & Marketing GB did a fantastic job making vast improvements to the garden areas at the James Hopkins Trust in Gloucester, so the space could be enjoyed safely by the children.
SHS Sales & Marketing Ireland joined forces with Stepping Stone Forests with our volunteers prepping soil and creating a pond for local schools, while our Belfast team helped to restore the biodiversity of the woodlands at Mount Stewart.
Standard Brands in Castlebellingham assisted Women’s Aid by painting and clearing the garden areas, whilst our Leatherhead site worked on the allotments for LeatherHEAD START.
From SHS Natural Foods removing packaging pollution from nearby areas, Cal B doing maintenance work at East Ayshire Community Hospital, to Bottlegreen planting daisies and weeding for their site-nominated charity Longfield, all of our Divisions have enjoyed giving back to their local communities this summer.
Give & Gain Day is a highlight of the year at SHS Group, and we are delighted to see our Divisions get involved again now that restrictions have eased. Across the Group this year we have provided 594 hours through Give & Gain Days, with a total of 95 volunteers getting involved.
