Job Description
The successful candidate will work within the SHS Drinks Division to support all aspects of both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects on both own brand and private label projects, including managing online specifications as required. This dynamic role will see the candidate supporting the NPD Manager with innovation and CI projects as well as taking a leading role in private label specifications management ensuring these are completed to the expected standard within required timelines.
Key Responsibilities
This role balances hands-on NPD liquid development with managing technical specifications and a variety of technically related compliance requirements. The responsibilities include:
- Accountability for the management of all aspects of raw material compliance management, including supporting site-based Production and Technical teams with inbound raw materials and packaging.
- Responsible for the management and timely delivery of all finished product specifications for own brand and private label.
- Proactively work on a variety of customer projects (Private Label, Brand and Co-pack ) as designated by the NPD Manager, ensuring briefs are met and timelines are adhered to.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure product launches are successful.
- Preparing all the necessary documentation to be presented alongside samples to internal and external customers.
- Organise necessary sensory evaluation panels to support product development.
- Support value engineering projects where necessary.
- Provide technical support to key functions in the business, with an emphasis on supporting the NPD, Procurement, Marketing, and Site teams and associated processes.
- Work in close collaboration with strategic suppliers to further develop shared learnings and technical knowledge and disseminate it into the wider SHS Technical Community.
Experience/Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification in a food or science-related subject.
- Ideally a minimum of two years NPD/Technical experience within the food/beverage industry.
- Knowledge of Private Label specification systems is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

This role is part-time, working three days a week and based in our Gloucester office.
